Chole was my cousin (my Mamoo’s son). He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and also a wonderful cousin to many. Chole had a great sense of humour, I remember when I was little, he would tease me endlessly, sometimes until I would end up crying; when I became an adult, he would still tease me endlessly….

In 2006 he came for the reunion in Toronto (even though his kidneys were failing and he was advised not to travel by his doctors). He told his wife that there was not way he would miss that! They flew in the Friday night, partied the Saturday and flew out early Sunday morning so that he could make his appointment with his “dialysis” machine the next day.

Chole, may Lord Krishna grant you eternal peace.. always…

  2. Professor Paul Erriah Says:

I am deeply touched at the passing of my former student, Chole Singh. Chole has left an indelible memory in my teaching career. HE WAS NOT ONLY A VERY BRIGHT STUDENT BUT ALSO THE HERO OF HIS CLASSMATES FOR HIS UNSWERVING “prankishness”. I had the unfortunate opportunity of scolding him on numerous times. In the innocence of his childhood, he glamored in the beauty of living a freewheeling life of joy.

His passing is a reminder to all of us that our existence is ephemeral. His love for friendship should serve as a lesson for us.

Chole, rest in peace since I love you.
    Om Nama Shiva Ya!
