Fellow LCGSS Alumni / Friends,

We will be having an LCGSS DINNER & DANCE FUND RAISER  on August 1st here in NY . It is just a simple event where we are hoping to (a) raise some funds to try to continue to assist kids at the school and (b) give us a chance to catch up with each other since June 2007.

 Some details of this event:

* August 1st at Krystal Hall ( 124-12, 101 Avenue Richmond Hill ).

* 8:00pm – 2:00am
* Capacity is 200. Important – only 200 tickets will be sold! Priority will   be given to our alumni; however we would like your response by May 1^st when we will start offering tickets to the general public.
* Admission is $30 which includes dinner
* Cash Bar

I am thinking that we can have a cricket match this Summer in Canada played between LCGSS (TO) and CHS-JCCSS (TO).  I will be in Toronto this weekend and plan to meet with the LCGSS group as well as the CHS-JCCSS cricket manager and assistant manager, Birgoon “Gomes” Balkissoon and Mrs. Dee Sheiker Baldeo.  I will report any progress after the discussions.  I believe we can make it happen.

A three-school cricket match

It seems almost certain that I will be able to put together an LCGSS Cricket Team. My suggestion is that we have all 3 schools play on the same day ( 20/20 matches ). A coin toss can determine which 2 schools play the first game with the winner playing the third school. I think all three schools present there at the same time will create a more festive, friendly and competitive atmosphere just like back in the old days !

 Congratulations to the CHS-JCCSS Alumni on the first anniversary of your website from the Lower Corentyne Government Secondary School (LCGSS) Alumni.  Our own website is under construction and I am hoping that through your medium I can get the following message out to our alumni:

I am looking to form a cricket team comprising of LCGSS grads in the Tri-State Area (NY-NJ-CT) in time to be able to play a friendly against CHS-JCCSS in NY this Summer.  If anyone is interested please contact me or Rishi asap.

Rishi and I spoke this morning about the prospects of mutual collaboration and interaction.
