Marlene and a number of her siblings attended CHS, as it was known in those times. They lived in my street but whereas I lived in Hampshire the Rawanas lived in Nigg. Marlene used to ride a bicycle to school. Quiet and demure, she was one of the beauties of the school and the apple of many an eye. After high school she went to England to study Hair-dressing. Upon her return she set up salons in Georgetown and Republic Park. Marlene developed her hairdressing skills to the very pitch of perfection, thanks to her dedication to and love for her profession. When she migrated to Canada her salons there were also very successful. Even in her retirement she is still sought after by a clientele which has confidence in Marlene’s deft hands. Surely a grad we are proud of !!
