Chole Ishwar Singh (1950-2009) – Class of 1968

It is with heavy heart that we report the passing of Chole “Ronald” Ishwar Singh, Class of 1968. Ronald was the husband of Shamin and father of Ravi, Navin, and Kevin of Miami, Florida. Our deepest and heartfelt sympathies go to his family and loved ones, and our thoughts and prayers are with them at this most painful and distressing time.
Funeral is on Saturday June 6, 2009. More details will be posted as available.
Mrs. Drupattie (Khemai) Persaud (1952–2009)
It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Mrs. Drupattie (Baby) Persaud nee Khemai of New York and formerly of Port Mourant and Whim. Drupattie (Class of 1969) was the wife of Parmanand Krishna Persaud (Class of 1968).

Desmond Beharry ’64 (1946 – 2009)
It is with immense sadness that we learn of the passing of Desmond Beharry (grad class of 1964). Desmond, formerly of Rose Hall Village, Guyana, passed away on Friday, April 17 ,2009 at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where he had recently relocated since January, 2009 from New York.

Mahadeo “Kit” Rupsingh (1944-2009)
It is with deep sadness that we learn of the passing of Mahadeo Rupsingh (Class of 1962). Mahadeo, formerly of Nigg, passed away on Sunday April 5, 2009 at 12.40pm in Florida after a brave struggle with cancer. His family and siblings were by his side.

Passing of Filbert Peters
I wish all a blessed holiday season.
I have to share with all the sad news that my eldest brother, Filbert Peters, an ex CHS student who opted for the Apprentice Training Center at Port Mourant, from where he graduated in 1964, passed away on Christmas morning at age 65. Arrangements are still in the works and I’ll share the info as soon as they are finalized.

Bhoj “Rano” Roopnarine 1947 – 2008
It is with deep sadness that we learn of the passing of Bhoj Roopnarine, Class of 1964. Bhoj passed away today at noon.
The last time I saw and chatted with Bhoj was at the CHS-JCCSS Reunion last August in NY. A few weeks before the Reunion he called me enquiring about reunion tickets.
Bhoj was from Belvedere and as a lad he would frequently sleep over at our house as he was great friends with my older brothers.
We offer our deepest sympathies to Bhoj’s wife, Zahora, and family.

It is with deep sorrow that we learn of the passing of Mrs. Savitri (Singh ’58) Rawana.
Savitri was the wife of Arnold Rawana (class of 54), sister of Ramphal Singh, Pertab and Vijai Singh,Dorothy and Drupattie.
She was the sister-in-law of Reginald Rawana (late husband of Indranie Jagan), Dr. Harold Rawana (husband of Ione Latchmansingh), Dr. Donald Rawana (husband of Joyce Bessember), Dr. Edward Rawana(husband of Jean Chetram), Dr.Sherlock Rawana, Dr. William Rawana, Gladys Rawana Nandlall, Rita Rawana Rambeharry(wife of Walter Rambeharry), Eva Rawana Scott( wife of Dr.Graham Scott), Celina Rawana Nathoo( wife of Julius Nathoo), Maylene Rawana Persaud(wife of Dalchan Persaud) and Mary Rawana Nippak(wife of Tom Nippak), all former graduates of CHS.
