I applaud the Committee’s decision to keep speeches to a minimum.
10 minutes for the guest speaker seems somewhat short but Abe Lincoln’s Gettysberg Address was less than 5 minutes!
Unfortunately, at the time of its delivery, its eloquence and power was lost on the gathering who were generally disappointed over the shortness of the President’s address. Lincoln may have overestimated the “intelligence” of his audience!
Considering the intellectual calibre of my audience at the Reunion, I anticipate no such problem.

Jules,

Welcome back to the Blogs. I am sure I speak for everyone when I say your contributions are never lacking either in wit or erudition.

Hope you are enjoying a wonderful Summer.

August in NY!!

I couldn’t agree with you more, Sir. I am really pleased, and thrilled to hear that you will be the guest speaker at the Reunion in N.Y this year. I can’t wait to read your much-anticipated message, as I know Rishi will waste no time posting for us (upon his return, of course), given the exceptional human being that he is.

I am deeply moved by your confidence in me and wish I could send you my speech even before it is delivered.
I have the utmost confidence in Rishi. I am sure that he will do everything necessary for its proper dissemination.
